Neighbor Friends!

Nick, our neighbors' grandson who is just a little older than Seamus, has been visiting for a few weeks. I have a photo of them playing together the first summer that we lived here - Seamus still hadn't learn to walk and Nick was about half the size.

I have a feeling we'll take lots of summer pictures with these boys before they get sick of us fawning over them. Here are some photos of the boys "racing" bikes. It's a little scary that in a few short years, I can imagine them asking to walk over to St. Kate's to play ball or walk up to Groveland because "there's nothing to do in the yard". Plastic bikes and a 15 foot sidewalk will only last so long...

Here we are, Where are you?

Dear Reader,

This blog is a letter to the future. The people for whom it is written are smarter, more attractive and certainly more inventive than this blog's lowly authors. Soon they will be able to read themselves, and I suppose sooner than this author can imagine they will divine some sort of meaning from these stories (the meaning of which we will not be able to control).

Some of the content is silly, some understandings will change with time (this is a journal, but we all know that real history is written in the future). We wonder what you will remember on your own? What will you think about these characters? How does the story go after our own chapter has been written?

The goal, dear reader, is lofty I suppose. We hope that in these simple entries, musings and incidents you will see the building of a life, a love and a family, one word at a time.
