To the Lake...

Boys left this morning to go to the lake with Aunt Peggy - we had a lovely morning reading and playing. It's silly, but it was very sad to see them go. Look at how handsome they are...

Enough to break my heart...

As I was just updating the last entry - I could hear the boys giggling in their bedroom. They have been playing pretty nicely together for a few weeks - but this might take the cake.

Seamus was telling Finn that they were playing "airplane" and Finn was laughing so hard I thought they were both going to fall out of the "plane".

I'm a little tired this morning - it's been a busy few days - but you have these moments every once in a while when you think your heart with break if you love these little people any more.

And then there were walls....

Happy Father's Day?

We started James's first father's day as a father of TWO boys at the Reagan's house. He had a little breakfast in bed and read about two pages of the newspaper before we had to hustle back home so he could finish the electrical for the remodel. He worked all day - until 9:30 last night - let's just say that his hands look like he ran some of the wire right through his fingers. But he got it all done - inspector is coming at noon today - and so we're still on track for insulation and sheet rock.

You can see that the boys got their first "mom" hair cuts. Nothing like the summer buzz - Seamus's didn't go quite as well as Finn's and I had to bring him to aunt Mary's house to clean up my dirty work. For about an hour Seamus looked like he had survived a nuclear winter...

Post Nap

Pre Nap...

Officer Bob

The boys with the squad. Heaven.

Tony Knock Down Walls...

Seamus's new best friend is Tony Quicksell. Tony is very tall and carries tools on a leather belt. Pretty much, it's impossible to get any more cool than Tony. We all pale in comparison. Standing on the far left is Mark the demo guy - he has to duck in all our doorways...

The house is moving along quite well. More remodel pictures later.

How Cold?

Last weekend, James completed the Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon. There were pictures of the swimmers in the Pioneer Press on Monday. He was one of a handful of participants who swam a mile and a half in the 56 degree water without a wetsuit. Looney, I tell you, totally looney.

I don't have any pictures yet - I'll post some as soon as I have. But you can see him finish at http://triathlons.accenture.com/SanFrancisco/tracking/.

He's a rockstar.

Football, Anyone?

Seamus was excited to discover (no more dead animal stories here) football pads and a helmut sitting on our back porch the other afternoon (thanks Schneeman's). He prompty put everything on (still a few years too big, but close enough) and ran around the yard. He discovered rather quickly that running in oversized football gear is quite hard and he announced he "No like football. I no play football." Well, at least he sounds like a pro football player...

Yeah! Bunnies! EEEWWWW! Bunnies!

So we discovered 5 little bunnies living in our oregano a few days ago. Seamus was in heaven. Unfortunately, the next morning, at least two of the bunnies were also in heaven...we found horribly dismembered baby bunny bodies in the dewy morning grass...

Seamus screamed for 10 minutes. Cousins Lizzy and Kerrie had spent the night and were present for the discovery - not sure if they'll ever spend the night again. The funniest (if any piece of this is really funny) part was Kerrie coming into the kitchen saying, "We ran over a baby bunny! But it might have been dead before we hit it." As if the plastic, Little Tyke car was capable of decapitating a rabbit.

99 is a Little Older than 1...

The boys and I got to see Helen on her latest milestone - she looks so good and seems so happy. She's as fabulous as fabulous gets.
