Wood working

James managed to fit in some shop time.  He and the kids built two cool benches and a table out of scrap wood from the Big House's old kitchen.  

Maybe there is a new career in the works...

Family Time (extended style)

One of the best parts of the cabin is the chance to spend unscripted time with the extended family - the kids all enjoyed having cousin time, but I also recognize how much I enjoy the otherwise limited time I have to spend catching up with the extended family.  I love being able to be around my parents so much.  I loved that I had time to really enjoy Kirsten and Clare (oh and Charlie too).  Relationships are shaped in the quiet times between the big events, on the walks through the woods, over Folger's coffee or during cocktails on the deck. We don't plan for it, but it happens simply over time if you allow for it. 

Seamus Skiing

Summer of 2012 is when Seamus learned to ski!  Finn almost got up a few times as well. MJ says next year. Thanks to aunt Mary, Uncle Eric, Aunt Erin, Lizzie and Uncle Nick for taking him and helping to teach him!

What can I say?  If you are known for anything at this point, Mr. Thomas, it is for your smile. You are light and sunshine, you are love and laughter, you are the joy of our lives right now (and I mean for all of us, your grandparents, siblings and parents).
